Animals have always played an important role in my life. As a child, I always felt drawn to animals and loved playing with the neighborhood pets.  For the past ten years I have worked with animals professionally, both as a petsitter and veterinary technician.  I have also volunteered with various animal rescue organizations.

In my eyes, every animal I meet is family and deserves to be treated as such.  My husband and I have several fur babies of our own.  Our family consists of two dogs (Lizzie & Nico), two cats (Ariana & Kaia), and one Hamster (Marigold).  We recently moved to Ohio from Roanoke, VA.  We love the outdoors and are looking forward to exploring everything Ohio has to offer!

Story behind The Cheerful Chug Name:

Our darling Lizzie is a chug (chihuahua/pug mix). We adopted her from a local animal Rescue in Georgia.  She had been a foster for over a year.  Her foster mom had placed her in three different homes, but every one had returned her due to her fearful and skiddish demeanor. Her foster mom thought that she was going to become a forever foster, but I believe that she was just waiting on us.  As soon as we walked in and they placed her in my arms, I knew she was coming home with us.  She was still scared, but slowly stopped shaking and became more relaxed in my arms.

Once we got her home, she claimed her perch on top of the couch and took to me instantly.  I remember when she licked my hand for the first time and how excited i was.

I decided to call my company The Cheerful Chug because of Lizzie's amazing transformation.  She went from this scared little chug and blossomed into a very cheerful chug! Her personality is bigger than I could have ever imagined.  Lizzie is the epitome of why I love working with animals and could not imagine doing anything else!
