Dog Days of Summer - Fun Summer Activities to do with your dog:

Ever since moving to Ohio, I am officially stir crazy and ready for warm weather as soon as the cold weather moves in. Lizzie, my southern belle, is right there with me. She would much rather enjoy sunny rays and catching bugs to tromping through snow. And I don't know if its the welcoming warmer weather or the lack of grey everywhere, but summers always seem busier. More plans. More events. More everything.
So this year, I decided to make a little game out of our summer - to make sure we slow down a little and truly enjoy every bit. Because one thing dogs have taught me is that joy is found in the simple things. You don't have to go on grand adventures or check off a giant to-do list. Dogs don't measure their day in how much they accomplished. They simply enjoy being present.
Introducing our Dog Days of Summer Bingo!
To help make the most of this summer, I've created a "Dog Days of Summer" bingo card. Each square is filled with fun summer activities to do with your dog. We welcome you to download and follow along with your pups, or create a bingo card all your own!

You might notice our card doesn't have any water related activities. We've tried kiddy pools and sprinklers, but our dogs just aren't fans (bath time is barely tolerated). But I know LOTS of dogs that love the water! My dad's Labrador is basically amphibious at this point. So I encourage you to tailor your "Dog Days of Summer" fun toward what you and your pups enjoy doing. You're welcome to use the template below or have fun designing your own. Just make it happen!
Join the FUN!
I will be sharing our bingo card on our social media pages, along with our adventures. I'd love for you and your pups to join in!
As you complete activities, snap a few photos and share your adventures. Tag us (@cheerfulchug) so I can celebrate along with you! Whether you complete one row or fill in the whole card, the goal is to have fun! There's nothing better than seeing happy dogs making memories with the people they love. Feel free to invite friends, family, or fellow dog lovers to participate. The more the merrier!
A Gentle Reminder.
Life is short and time sure does fly. And even though we don't want to think about it, we only get so many summers to enjoy with our furry best friends. So this summer, slow your pace. Put your phone down and enjoy watching your dog investigate every flower, sniff the summer breeze, and remind you that happiness can be found in the smallest moments.
Your dog doesn't care if you're hiking a mountain or taking a gentle stroll around the neighborhood. They simply want to enjoy the world around them - especially you!
Here's to a summer of making memories that will far outlast the season.
Happy Summer!
